1 g contains 10 mg of florfenicol and 10 mg of levamisole


Pharmacological properties:Ā 

Florfenicol is a synthetic bacteriostatic antibiotic, active against grampositive and gram-negative microorganisms: Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Pasteurella multocida, Haemophilus spp., Proteus spp., Enterobacter spp., Klebsiella spp., Bordetella spp., Mycoplasma spp. It is active against acetyltransferase-producing strains. Mechanism of action: blocking of action of peptidyl transferase by binding with 50-S ribosomal subunit, which leads to inhibition of protein synthesis in bacterial cell. Levamisole is an anthelmintic of imidazole group. Is active against nematodes. Levamisole possesses immunostimulating effect, stimulates regeneration processes in tissues. Mechanism of action: inhibition of fumarate reductase, which leads to parasiteā€™s paralysis and death.


Indications:

Treatment of conjunctivitis and infected wounds in livestock animals, cats and dogs; Treatment of thelasiosis in cattle, sheep and goats.


Dosage:

In case of conjunctivitis: ointment is applied with glass rod or by pushing out of the tube into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye daily, twice a day, at a dose of 0.1-0.5 g. Duration of treatment depends on severity of lesion, but for no longer than 5-7 days. Treatment of infected wounds: ointment is applied daily, twice a day, with a thin layer or with sterile gauze impregnated wipes, which loosely fill wound, until complete cleaning from necrotic masses, but for no longer than 10 days.
